Come as you are

A woman with long, light brown hair, smiling, sits in a café holding a beige coffee mug with both hands. She is wearing a black jacket and a white blouse. The background features blurred lights and windows with natural light coming through.

Hello and welcome.

My name is Amber (she/her), and I'm glad you're here. I know that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I believe therapy works best when we begin exactly where you are. My role is to offer a space that feels steady, compassionate, and collaborative as you move toward the changes that matter most to you.

I focus on supporting parents, men’s mental health, deeply rooted trauma, relationships struggles and navigating shift work, emergency services and spouses.

I am certified to practice DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), EFFT (Emotionally-Focused Family Therapy) and trained in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and SMART (Sensory Motor Regulation Therapy).

I look forward to helping you explore how to work towards the life you want. A complimentary 15 minute chat will help you determine if I am the right fit for you. You will leave our first session together with tangible ideas of how therapy can help you.

I offer virtual, in-person and walk and talk sessions.

"I believe therapy is less about how big a problem looks on the outside, and more about how heavy it feels to carry it. My focus is on creating a space for people to feel understood, and where showing up to talk about hard things feels a little less overwhelming. It is a privilege to be with clients through that process."

About me professionally

Amber has over 15 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector and has supported children, youth, adults, and families through many different seasons of life. Her clinical background includes work with men’s mental health, addictions, trauma, relationship concerns, shift work, emotional expression, domestic violence, homelessness, chronic stress, depression, and family change.

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in attachment and values, with a strong belief that therapy is most meaningful when the whole person is considered within the context of their relationships, environment, and lived experience. Amber draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and somatic and body-based approaches, including Sensory Motor Regulation Therapy.

She is especially passionate about supporting men’s mental health. As a boy mom, Amber cares deeply about creating space for men to feel capable and strong while also having room for their emotional needs to be acknowledged and supported. She believes healing often begins when people can make sense of the patterns that shape them and reconnect with the values that guide them.

Amber’s education includes a Social Work diploma from Red Deer College, an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Mount Royal University, and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

About me personally

Outside of work, Amber feels most grounded when she is near water and in nature. She enjoys swimming, paddle boarding, hiking, and finding moments to slow down outdoors. Movement is an essential part of her well-being, whether that means walking, practicing yoga, playing catch, or heading out on a trail with her son.

Amber also loves sports-especially hockey, football, and baseball-and values the sense of belonging that comes from being part of something bigger than herself. In the summer, she enjoys gardening and the simple satisfaction of growing fruits and vegetables. One of her guiding values is creating balance between life’s demands and making meaningful memories with her family.

Amber’s path into this work began through a combination of personal experience, where she saw how painful cycles can keep people feeling stuck. That early insight continues to shape the heart of how she shows up in her work today.

Let’s work together.
